An Evening with Mark Wagenbuur

On a very wet Monday evening, PedBikeTrans welcomed Dutch Cycling Embassy ambassador and internationally-renowned blogger and presenter, Mark Wagenbuur. Despite the rain, it was great to see so many attend Mark's presentation on Dutch bicycle culture, its origin and the formative role of the public in determining the country’s urban development pattern.

 

As a result of the strong desire for sustainable, mixed use and safe living areas for all age groups and abilities, The Netherlands is now a society that makes different (and world-leading) choices about land use, transport planning and urban design. These choice are facilitated by a pragmatic, flexible and common-sense approach to innovation and risk.
