The Department of Transport and Main Roads has recently updated its Active Travel Economic Appraisal Tool.

The tool has been developed to assist in the economic costs and benefits of proposed or recently completed investments in active travel infrastructure, both for stand-alone projects as part of larger transport projects.

The methodology and parameter values used within the tool are consistent with the Australian Transport Assessment and Planning Guidelines.

Two economists from the Department's Economic Research and Analysis team will describe the improvements made to the tool, discuss plans for its future use and development and be available to answer questions.
